When is Labor Day?

Monday, September 5th is Labor Day this year! It's always the first Monday in September, and is a holiday dedicated to workers in all industries across the United States, providing a much-needed and earned day off to allow employees to rest, relax and go on a final summer vacation with their loved ones.

1. A beach party! Consider heading down to Chesapeake Beach for sand volleyball, a big bonfire, grilling and awesome Labor Day-themed treats like hot dogs, s'mores and other in-season veggies like corn on the cob and delicious fruit salads. If you aren't in the mood to go near the water, this is still a great idea for some local parks near Annapolis like Acton Cove Park and Amos Garrett Park. 2. Going out on the water in Chesapeake Bay. 3. Maryland Renaissance Festival! The second-largest Renaissance Festival in the country is HERE, at Revel Grove, from August 27th until October 23rd every weekend! Celebrating it's 40th year, the Renaissance Festival in off Crownsville Road in Annapolis is a fantastic and festive way to end the summer and allow the 16th-century courtiers to admire your glowing, golden airbrush tan (NOT acquired through hard labor outside!).
