Spring Break and Spray Tans: The Tan Cabana's Tips!

Spring is coming to Annapolis (and Jacksonville Beach, where our flagship location is), as well as the rest of the world! What are your plans for spring break?
Every year in mid-March, thousands of people flock to beaches, shore parties, boating, vacations, and more to enjoy the warmer weather and have a much-needed break from school (or work!). The Tan Cabana is Annapolis's premier custom airbrush tan salon in the area, and we want you to look and feel your best for your upcoming trip--even if it's only over to Cheseapeake Bay!
The Tan Cabana's Tips For Looking Gorgeous this Spring Break:
1. Schedule Your Airbrush Spray Tan With Us!
Our custom hand-sprayed airbrush tans are tailored to your skin tone and give it a natural bronze color (never orange!). The Tan Cabana's formula utilizes DHA--a natural sugar-based derivative that interacts with your skin's amino acids--to darken it to a gorgeous, attractive tan. Our solution is odorless, organic, and takes only 5 minutes to be applied, so you can walk in and out of the salon in less than a 20 minutes while looking and feeling a hundred times better!
The Tan Cabana recommends scheduling your appointment with us at least 24 hours before your trip--the solution takes 12 hours to develop, and we recommend that you do not shower or go in the pool/ocean/hot tub until at least that amount of time has passed. Lots of clients enjoy the color of the instant cosmetic bronzer that shows up immediately during the spray tan, so keep that in mind as well while planning your appointment!

2. Remember to Wear Your Sunscreen!
We are huge supporters of sun safety, and advocates for people to receive spray tans instead of laying in tanning beds or spending copious amounts of time outside in potentially harmful UV-rays, The Tan Cabana wants to remind our clients that airbrush tans are NOT sunscreen, nor do they offer any protection from the sun. They are not a "base tan"--something people do in tanning beds to receive base color and potential prevent a bad sunburn outside--and we highly recommend and encourage all of our clients to wear sunscreen and protective clothing at ALL times when outside. Not only will you look gorgeous now with your airbrush tan and protected skin, but you will look beautiful for decades to come without wrinkles, sunspots, and the threat of harmful skin cancers!
3. The Tan Cabana's Recommended Sunscreens for Spring Breakers
Oil-based sunscreens strip your airbrush tan more quickly, so The Tan Cabana recommends using non-oil-based sunscreens like Bullfrog, Neutrogena Healthy Defense Oil-free Sunblock, Banana Boat Ultra Defense and more. Also, be sure to keep moisturizing throughout your vacation with oil-free moisturizers, and avoid products that strip color like Dove, Bath & Body Works, and Victoria's Secret.
